The long-awaited Pran Pratishtha ceremony of Lord Ram, which was witnessed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat, CM of UP Yogi Adityanath and other dignitaries, today on Monday dated 22/Jan/2024, left Ayodhya engulfed in religious fervor. When the temple was dedicated, petals from flowers were dropped onto the grounds by army helicopters.
The 51-inch-tall idol, painstakingly carved from a single block of stone, depicts a five-year-old Lord Ram standing elegantly on a lotus. It was created by the talented hands of Mysuru-based sculptor Arun Yogiraj.
Around 7,000 VVIPs from across the country, including politicians, businesspeople, athletes, actors, and others, attended the magnificent event.
Built in the traditional Nagara architectural style, the Ram Mandir compound has an outstanding height of 161 feet, a width of 250 feet, and an east-west span of 380 feet. The temple’s vertical construction is made up of floors that are 20 feet high, each held up by an amazing group of 392 pillars and 44 gates.
Prior to the ceremony, PM Modi drank coconut water, slept on the floor, and observed a rigorous 11-day fast known as “anushthan.” In addition, he made a holy plunge at the Rameswaram ‘Angi theerth’ beach and toured a number of temples throughout India prior to the Ram Mandir’s “pran-pratishtha” ceremony.
The ritual of consecration started at 12:20 pm
The ritual of consecration of Ramlala started at 12:20 pm. The main puja of Pran Pratishtha took place in Abhijeet Muhurta. The time of Ramlala’s life consecration was determined by Kashi scholar Ganeshwar Shastri Dravid. This program took place on Dwadashi date of Paush month (22 January 2024) in Abhijeet Muhurta, Indra Yoga, Mrigashira Nakshatra, Aries Lagna and Scorpio Navamsha.
Auspicious time of 84 seconds
The auspicious time was from 12:29 minutes and 08 seconds to 12:30 minutes and 32 seconds of the day. That means the auspicious time for Pran Pratistha is only 84 seconds. The idol of Shri Ram Lalla was consecrated at the hands of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who presided over the puja ceremony. This ritual was performed by 121 Vedic Acharyas under the direction of renowned Vedic Acharya Ganeshwar Dravid of Kashi and Acharya Laxmikant Dixit. During this period, saints and religious leaders of more than 150 traditions and more than 50 tribal, tribal, coastal, island and tribal traditions were also present.
